Tallahassee community contra dances have resumed in the Senior Center Ballroom on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month! Contra dancing is a beginner-friendly American folk dance for all ages. It shares many moves with square dancing (such as swing your partner and do-si-do) and is danced in long lines to live music. The bands and callers vary each night. Come alone or bring friends--no partner or experience required. Those new to contra dancing are strongly encouraged to come by 7:15 when a Beginner Lesson will be taught, and as dances are taught in more detail early in the evening. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes.

💕 In anticipation of Valentine's Day, we’ll have a chocolate fountain flowing, and dancers are encouraged to bring dippable items to share (fruit, marshmallows, baked goods, etc.). Wear red or pink too if you feel so inclined! 💕
