How are art and education inspiring, affecting, and promoting social change?
This symposium brings together scholars, practitioners, artists, and educators—from the community and the academy—to share their work, projects, and goals. Through presentations, dialogue and workshops, this event will consider how the arts and education support social justice initiatives. The goal of this event is to include and amplify voices that are often on the margins of academia and to share the theories, methodologies, and results of art and education practices that strive to have a direct public impact. The encounter will focus on the guiding question: How are art and education inspiring, affecting, and promoting social change? Presenters and attendees can register for this three-day event that will include a keynote session, panels, research and project presentations, and workshops. We encourage all attendees to consult the program for this event which will be updated live on our website: art4socialjustice.wordpress.com. Our website also contains information about travel and accommodations. Any questions regarding this event can be sent to the Symposium Coordinator: Illyanna Soares, ies22a@fsu.edu.
