Bruce Ballister In-Conversation with Tom Flanigan for N.O.K

Presented by Midtown Reader at Midtown Reader

Jason Saylor has returned to his hometown on the northern coast of Florida. Dubbed the Forgotten Coast by its developers and realtors, Jason has forgotten and left behind most of his past. The past, he learns, can catch up to you as old relationships and friendships are re-evaluated and tested. He’s been involuntarily furloughed from a successful career in investigative journalism, a career that threatened too many of Houston’s power elite. Now that he’s home, He finds himself embroiled as a prime suspect in the case of missing coed, Lindsey Lawrence. His intention of spending the furlough writing a new series of euro-spy novels is interrupted, as he puts his skills to the test to clear his name against the advice of the Sheriff and his former best friend, now a local policeman.Part of a foursome of friends from his high school days, he finds now that rekindling those friendships can be both helpful and hazardous to his freedom, as he searches for either the missing girl’s abductor or worse, her corpse. Upon the recent death of her mother, Lindsey is an orphan, and Saylor’s best hope is finding her next of kin, the only person who might have a claim on her considerable estate. Aiding Jason's search is Belle, Lindsey's roommate and the clerk at the family store. She soon becomes more than just a friend in need.

Meet the Author:
Bruce Ballister has been a member of the Tallahassee Writers Association for over ten years, a member of Florida Authors and Publishers for over five years, and a board member of both. He’s also been a literary contest organizer for both of those organizations as well as a former president of the TWA. He is also a volunteer reader with the Florida Writers Association.

Bruce is self-published and enjoys producing his own books. He likes sharing the knowledge gained from his DIY experiences, going from the writing to the design and production to the book sales. He admits he may need more patience but overall does not want to wait for an agent to take a chance on a septuagenarian. He instead puts in the time, effort, and passion required to put his writing out there for others. You can find Bruce’s books at ballisterbooks.com and his author page on Amazon. His most recent novel, N. O. K., is the first of his projects to take the leap into audiobooks.

Meet Tom:
Tom Flanigan is program director for news at WFSU Public Media. In that role, he provides support to the station's 6-member news team and also produces considerable content about community issues and happenings.  He joined the organization in 2006 after a decade long detour into the corporate communications arena.  But his broadcast journalism career began in 1973 and took him to various radio stations in Maryland, Texas and Florida.  When not chasing various news sources around the Tallahassee area, Florida likes to relax with some light reading.  Soren Kierkegaard is one of his faves, along with ANYTHING written by Bruce Ballister.
