With Deep Roots Foliage Thrives

Presented by FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery at Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery- FAMU

The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery is excited to present our upcoming exhibition, “With Roots Deep Foliage Thrives,” presented by the Across the Divide Project. The Across the Divide Project is a platform for Chinese artists and scholars serving in American universities to share creative practice, research, and teaching through exhibitions, symposiums, and other related events and activities. With the idea first created by Professor Yu ji California State University, Long Beach, and friend Xu Bing in 1997, the exhibition has since traveled across various universities in North America, serving as a platform for these artists to exchange ideas with the public and to voice their positions on cultural assimilation and aesthetic conflicts.
Most recently, the exhibition has traveled to Oklahoma State University’s Museum of Art with “The Art of Asian Languages Exhibition” and will be featured at FAMU’s Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery exhibiting “With Roots Deep, Foliage Thrives” from November 8 - December 2, 2022. Included in this exhibition are 22 artists and FAMU Professor of Art and member of the Across the Divide Project, Dr. Nan Liu.

Please join us for the opening reception Wednesday, November 9, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. This reception is free and open to the public.
