Packrat's Men of The Swamp, Saturday, Sept. 10th @ 7:30 pm

Packrat’s Men of the Swamp emerges from the smoky vapors of north Florida’s black lagoon for a steamy evening in the backwoods!

Packrat and the gang have haunted the juke for over two decades with a style all of their own. This is Florida’s original hoodoo, voodoo darkwater swamp blues band that comes in from the tannin, snake and mosquito infested wetlands.

Make no mistake, there is no other band like them. Packrat’s (Anthony Thompson) gravelly voice, haunting harp, larger than life appearance and garb, provide the setting for real Florida swamp blues.

Packrat’s is backed up by Pete Beers on keys, Swampy Joe on guitar, and the venerable “Pop” Watson on drums. Pop has played with the likes of Rufus Thomas, The Drifters, The Temptations, Martha & The Vandellas and Arthur Conley among others. It does the heart good to see Pop still on the road and holding the down the pocket.

Their music is haunting, mesmerizing, low down and spooky luring folks to the dance floor like gators to the swamp water. Perfect hot, steamy moonshine music for 2020's! Really good, unique and entertaining stuff. Highly recommended! Dancin’ shoes strongly suggested.
