Join our nationally-ranked opera program as they present this comic opera masterpiece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, described by BBC News Magazine as “one of the supreme masterpieces of operatic comedy, whose rich sense of humanity shines out of Mozart’s miraculous score.”
Florida State Opera is pleased to present W. A. Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro! Several years have passed since the events of The Barber of Seville; Figaro has become Count Almaviva’s manservant and has fallen in love with Susanna, Countess Rosina’s maid. Unfortunately the Count has also taken a liking to Susanna, an act distinctly noticed by Figaro and the Countess. Tricks and traps play out over the course of the opera as Figaro and Susanna navigate their wedding day. This fully-staged double-cast production runs Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m., with a final matinee performance on Sunday, October 30 at 3 p.m. in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. General parking is available in the St. Augustine Garage located on the corner of Pensacola and Copeland Streets, and the Call Street Garage located on corner of Call and Macomb Streets. Accessible parking is available at the North Entrance of Ruby Diamond Concert Hall and along Convocation Way. The accessible entrance drop-off area is located at the north entrance of Ruby Diamond (the roundabout) and may be accessed by Convocation Way. Elevators are available to take patrons to the appropriate floor. Ushers will help direct patrons to the elevators.
