Tallahassee Symphony presents - Devotion and Dance

Presented by Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall - Florida State University

TSO kicks off the new year with a program full of sentimentality and jubilation. We will open with Luigi Boccherini’s homage to the Don Juan story, “La Casa del Diavolo.” Following this, virtuosic young pianist, Conrad Tao, joins the orchestra for a performance of Schumann’s moody concerto. At once brooding and buoyant, this work centers on the interdependent relationship between soloist and orchestra, mirroring the passionate devotion between the composer and his wife Clara, a brilliant pianist and artistic champion. Beethoven’s victorious Seventh Symphony closes the show with a joyous dance celebrating the independence and resiliency of the human spirit.
