621 Gallery is hosting a two-session movement experience for yogis of all levels, eager to learn and experiment with how yoga, art and creativity are all interconnected.
This experience will include two sessions, an introductory session and a second, more experimental session. Limited materials (yoga mats and blocks) will be available to complete beginners who may not have them already, but it is encouraged to bring your own materials if you have them. These sessions are non-professional and casual, aiming to open a conversation about how regular yoga-based movement and stretching is beneficial to a creative mind. This means the event is intern-led and does not include a licensed yoga instructor. All ages and experience levels are welcome to participate! Session One: Some of the most foundational yoga poses will allow attendees to understand how movement and an attentiveness to one's body is a completely inside job which we can harness control over. Because exercising with strangers can be nerve-wracking, it will be stressed that nothing in the experience is required to perform if it doesn't feel comfortable. Session Two: A more challenging session which includes enjoyable poses, encouraging all guests to relate yoga practices to a fun time. 621 Gallery will have their bar ready to serve drinks including select beers, seltzers, and wine. During the event, all guests are invited to participate in a music trivia game. There will be prizes and ample opportunities to form genuine connections through stretching and movement.
