Master artist Don Taylor will teach a drawing and painting workshop about composing images by combining multiple photographs to create the best possible composition.
Join master artist Don Taylor for a workshop that focuses on using photographs to compose an image. Rather than painting an exact copy of a photograph, Don Taylor will work with students to take the best parts of different photographs and bring them together for a final composition to paint. This workshop will be ideal for beginner and intermediate artists working in watercolor or acrylic. The first day will focus on composition and design with value sketches, and the second day will focus on applying those skills to painting.
Artists will bring 5-15 photographs in any chosen subject. Don Taylor is experienced in working with a variety of subjects, such as animals and wildlife, figurative works, landscapes, automotive, and architectural subjects. Taylor will teach students as a group and work with students individually.
Tuition: $170 nonmembers, $150 members (Gadsden Arts or Tallahassee Watercolor Society)
