Exhibit Opening & Reception “They Led the Way”

Presented by John G. Riley Center & Museum of African-American History and Culture at Sean Pittman Conference Center

The Florida Trust in partnership with the Riley Museum will host the exhibition They Led the Way beginning May 19, 2016. Learn about the students who desegregated public schools in Tallahassee during the 1960s. The event will proceed with a FREE Heritage Pathways Trolley tour which will visit various sites in collaboration with the 2016 Festival of Freedom.

Hosting this exhibit provides us an opportunity to invite public participation in and increase awareness of the importance of preserving and recognizing our history.

They Led the Way will open with a reception on May 19th, 5:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. at the Hays Hood House, a 1910 restored Queen Anne style home.
