Literary Night featuring Linda Schuyler Ford

Presented by Black Dog Literary Nights at Black Dog on the Square

Black Dog is excited to welcome Linda Schuyler Ford

Linda "Schuyler" Ford grew up in Sleepy Hollow, NY and moved to Danbury, CT when she got married. Now a Floridian, Linda delights in exploring and sharing Florida folktales, as well.

Linda became a storyteller in 1980, and includes ghost, Christmas, women’s history and peace-building stories in her repertoire. She especially loves the folktales of her beloved Hudson Valley and New England. Linda's moving true stories have brought audience members to their feet.

Having worked as a therapeutic recreation director for over 20 years, she has also developed storytelling programs for people living with dementia, and their caregivers. She also offers storytelling retreats for caregivers, as a touchstone against burn-out. She has been invited to give the Keynote address at long term care conferences, bringing therapeutic storytelling ideas front and center as a tool to enhance quality of life. Linda also offers introductory storytelling, and life story workshops.

She is a member of the National Storytelling Network, The Connecticut Storytelling Association, and the League for Advancement of New England Storytelling. She currently serves on the Florida Storytelling Association’s Board of Directors.

Linda Schuyler Ford has performed at storytelling festivals, museums, schools, libraries, nursing homes, and living rooms up and down the East coast.
