Campers will progress through Thomas County history, starting with the Native Americans and work their way up to the 20th-Century using resources available here at the Museum and in our surrounding neighborhood, including the Lapham-Patterson House.
This year we’re adding a few new twists to the perennial favorite, Time Travelers Club History Camp. Have no fear, our revamped Camp Dawson is rooted in the same activities and themes that have inspired and engaged Thomas County campers for nearly 20 years, just with a little added museum mischief and adventure. In addition to our traditional hands-on history-based activities, we want to engage our campers in new explorations of the community around us. We are embracing the elements of S.T.E.A.H.M: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, History, and Math that can be found and applied in our own backyard about our community’s evolution.
