Painting in the Shade, artists paint outdoors, capturing the light. Working in the style of the French Impressionists, the history and sights of Havana Florida are recreated on canvas.
The 2nd Annual Painting in the Shade, Plein Air Event takes place over three days. Artists paint throughout the community on all three days and are required to paint at least one painting a day. There is a "Wet Room Gallery" where the new work will hang and each artist is invited to bring three previously painted works as well. Guests may purchase the older work at any time, but the new "wet" work will only be available at the last night "Closing Gala" which is a ticketed event with food and drink. The entire event will be held downtown at the Havana Springs Annex at the corner of 7th Ave and Main St. Additional information and tickets can be purchased at www.havanamainstreet.com/events. Gallery and Wet Room open 10am-5:00pm daily and is open to the public
Friday Night Gallery Opening starts at 5:00pm and goes to 7:00pm and is open to the public
Saturday Night Closing Gala starts at 6:00pm and runs till 9:00pm this is a ticketed event.
Artists Talks are scheduled at noon all three days at the location. Check schedule at the gallery for featured artist. Artist talks are free and open to the public.
