“BACKYARD BLUES” RETURNS TO BLUE TAVERN ON MARCH 26, 2022.  Local and Regional Blues Musicians Featured in All-Day Festival. After having to cancel the festival for two years running due to the pandemic, Blue Tavern is set to host its second blues festival. Backyard Blues will be an all-day, all-ages event, rain or shine with indoor and outdoor stages. A stage has been constructed in the courtyard behind the building, accessible from 5th Avenue. Music starts at 2 pm on Saturday, March 26, and after our headline act an open invitational jam is on til closing time. Those who are acquainted with Blue Tavern know the venue hosts a multitude of music styles and genres, but the first love of the owners has always been down home blues. The purpose of the festival is to promote blues music in the community, but mainly to have fun and provide an event for everyone to enjoy. The lineup features nationally recognized luminaries such as Andy Cohen, and Libby Rae Watson; with the local talent well represented by the likes of Sir Charles Atkins, Avis Berry, Joël Johnson, and Blues Meets Girl. The Tavern's kitchen will be open all day. Beer, wine, coffee, tea, and sodas are available inside. No coolers, please – but lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. Parking is available in lots nearby and on several side streets. Look for the blue-and-white signs! There is a bike rack for those wishing to pedal their way to the festival. Tickets are available for purchase at the Tavern or on-line at bluetaverntallahassee.com. Advance tickets are $30, $40 at the gate. Blue Tavern is located at 1206 North Monroe Street, across from Wells Fargo bank, in walking/biking distance from Levy and Lafayette Park neighborhoods.
