The Southern Shakespeare Company is offering the opportunity for children from K through 12 to discover the joys of live theater by participating in workshops and performances of Shakespeare’s most popular play, Romeo and Juliet. We will be holding three separate week-long camps for elementary, middle, and high school students at The Tallahassee Center.

Students will have the opportunity to:

• enhance their acting skills, with posture, voice, and stage presence training;
• work in small groups to achieve clearly defined goals, and help them gain confidence by supportive encouragement of their readings and performance;
• work in a supportive environment to gain self-confidence through improvisational games and workshops;
• become familiar with the requirements needed to stage a theatrical production, from blocking scenes, to rehearsing, to costuming, set design, lighting and sound issues that arise.

All sessions will be run by trained professional staff and teachers who appreciate that, to enable learning, the participants must be enjoying themselves, whilst providing a safe and structured environment.  The main objective is to have fun!

Location: Tallahassee Center

Time: 9am-1pm (with early drop off option)

Dates: Sessions run three weeks during the month of June and are grouped by elementary, middle, and high school age sessions.
