"Writing With Nature: Methods for Merging Art and Life"

Author Brandi George will discuss some of the ways that she begins to create new work, including ways to infuse the writing process with joy and creativity.

About the author: Brandi grew up in rural Michigan. Her first collection of poetry, Gog (Black Lawrence Press, 2015) won the gold medal in the 2015 Florida Book Awards. Poems from this book have appeared in Gulf Coast, Prairie Schooner, Ninth Letter, Columbia Poetry Review, and The Iowa Review. She has been awarded residencies at Hambidge Center for the Arts and the Hill House Institute for Sustainable Living, Art & Natural Design, and she attended the Sewanee Writer’s Conference as a Tennessee Williams Scholar. She currently resides in Tallahassee, where she is a Ph.D. candidate at Florida State University.
