DanceChance

Program description

The DanceChance program was created as an opportunity for economically disadvantaged children to gain exposure to the art form of dance. Through the program, The Tallahassee Ballet offers students across Leon County completely free dance instruction, as well as dance wear and shoes for the class. It is important that students get a full and well-rounded experience, so the Ballet provides a spring recital for all the students in the county-wide program to showcase what they have learned to their family, friends, and teachers.  All participants in our programs are invited to learn more about dance through complimentary tickets to Company performances and community open houses held at The Tallahassee Ballet studios, where they can watch the Company train and rehearse.

Our professional and qualified teachers not only share their passion and love for dance, but also impart discipline and encourage self-expression. Dance offers a special and unique enhancement to traditional education. In addition, talented and dedicated students are awarded scholarships to continue training over the summer at The Tallahassee Ballet.

Program provides economically disadvantaged children with tuition-free classes and dancewear. Classes are conducted at participating school sites.
