WFSU has served the community for over 50 years providing both PBS and NPR broadcast content to over 450,000 households throughout North Florida. Our mission is to inform, educate and entertain with quality programming both on air, online and on the ground. WFSU has an extensive outreach and education department that helps connect our community to our national programming. In 2012, WFSU was selected as one of 11 stations to participate in the PBS Ready To Learn project. This transmedia initiative combines PBS programming with on the ground resources to help children in our community become successful in math, science and language arts utilizing 21st century learning tools. WFSU provides educational training to childcare providers, teachers and parents. We work extensively with many schools throughout the area.
