In the story of Florida’s Spanish missions, San Luis was the principal mission town of the Apalachee province. It served as both the administrative and religious capital of a chain of missions stretching from St. Augustine westward. Modern day visitors discover the blended community of Apalachee Indians and Spanish settlers through a living history program and an archaeological exhibit.
