Program description

The Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery offers six art exhibitions per academic year, and two annuals during the summer months (In May, “The Leon County Middle School Juried Art Show” and in June “The Tallahassee Chinese Art Exhibition”) with opening receptions that are free, family friendly and open to the public. We also offer guided tours of our art exhibitions, Monday through Friday with scheduled visits designed for groups ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade. We have opportunities for students to engage with the concepts and themes as well as the mediums and materials of featured artwork in meaningful age-appropriate ways. Our guided tours engage students with activities such as, Q and A sessions and pre-visit and post visit materials designed to coincide with classroom materials.
