Vibrant Neighborhoods Grant Program Opens Soon
Interested applicants invited to attend a virtual workshop on Nov. 1

The City of Tallahassee’s Vibrant Neighborhoods Grant program helps neighborhood/ homeowners associations engage with their neighbors and enhance their communities. Starting Monday, November 1, the grant program will begin accepting applications for its new round of funding. The application period will remain open until all funds have been awarded. Applicants can apply for up to $2,500 in grant funding.

The Vibrant Neighborhoods Grant program was started to help resident-initiated projects that improve the quality of life in Tallahassee neighborhoods come to fruition. Past grant winners have achieved a multitude of things including new welcome signs for the neighborhood.

City neighborhood and homeowners associations can apply for funding for projects related to community beautification/placemaking, community enrichment programs, and neighborhood events. Some examples of eligible uses of the grant funding are, establishing new and/or improving existing landscaping, creating a community garden, or adding artwork to a public space. All physical improvements must take in the public rights of way or on property owned and/or controlled by the applying neighborhood organization.

To provide additional information and answer questions, the City’s Neighborhood Affairs Division will host a virtual workshop on Monday, November 1, from 6-7:30 p.m. This workshop will inform interested applicants about the program guidelines and application requirements. There are a few options for how to register for the workshop – contact Neighborhood Affairs at 850-354-1926, send an email to neighborhoods@Talgov.com, or register online at https://form.jotform.com/91764882473167.
