The College of Fine Arts seeks applicants for the position of Events & Outreach Coordinator within the Office of the Dean.

About the College:

The College offers degree programs in Art, Art Education, Art History, Dance, Interior Architecture and Design, and Theatre. The College also houses several non-academic units including the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Many of our programs rank among the most respected in the nation.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage College-wide social, educational, entertainment, and fundraising events. Assist with public relations and communications for assigned events. Solicit and follow up with vendors, negotiate prices, and prepare budget reports for event-related expenses. Responsible for updating event calendars and record event invitations and attendance. Assists with coordination of communications to external constituents, including print and electronic materials. Coordinates annual College alumni awards process. Proactively communicate with key external constituents and build relationships with local arts and community organizations. Oversees gift acknowledgement process for ongoing and annual gifts. Ensures College representation at key departmental, College, University, community, and other events. Analyze event, show, and other attendance and constituent data. Develop, plan, and execute Fine Arts Circle events, leveraging existing programming within the College. Track and report membership fees and expenditures, and ensure departmental membership fee allocations are distributed in accordance with the program’s terms. Attendance at assigned after hours and weekend events is required; limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma or equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position.(Note: or a combination of a post-high school education and experience equal to six years.) Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and public relations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software. Valid Florida or Georgia driver’s license or the ability to obtain.

Preferred

Candidates with a strong customer service orientation, project planning, and mass mailing experience are preferred, as are applicants with experience training and directing the work of others, and the ability to present in front of groups.

Anticipated Salary Range

Commensurate upon experience.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
