The theme for our February Story Slam is "Heartbeat!"

Midtown Reader's Story Slam series is an opportunity for local writers to share their work with our community of Tallahassee writers and readers. Writers should send in 600 words or less on the theme by January 30th to be considered to read at the event.

Laurel Lathrop is our Story Slam judge and emcee. Laurel is a PhD candidate in creative writing at FSU, where she also teaches composition, literature, and creative writing. A California native, she misses the West Coast but has grown to love Tallahassee. When she's not writing her dissertation or working at Midtown Reader, she sings in the Tallahassee Community Chorus.
