Primary Job Description:
Assist the Mission San Luis Education Department in creating programming to inform the public of the history of Mission San Luis. Other duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct historical and practical research for museum programming, including special events
- Staff public programs and events
- Docent historic site tours for guests of all ages and backgrounds
- Maintain neatness and cleanliness in all areas [historic and non-historic] including shared office, kitchen, and living spaces.
- As needed, conduct outreach programs, perform first person “Living History” interpretation to the public, participate in museum maintenance projects, and other duties as required.
KSAs:
- Comfortable with public speaking, and able to give tours to large groups.
- Ability to research and communicate effectively [written and oral presentations].
- Must be able to work the weekly hours and have a flexible schedule.
- Able to work outdoors and stand for long periods of time.
- Maintain a cordial relationship with Mission San Luis staff. Enjoys working as a team to accomplish goals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
