The mission of the Vilcek Foundation is to raise public awareness of the outstanding contributions of foreign-born scientists and artists living and working in the United States. To that end, the foundation is accepting applications from young professionals for the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Culinary Arts.

The foundation will award three prizes of $50,000 each to young immigrant culinary arts professionals who demonstrate extraordinary talent, dedication, and potential to advance the field of culinary arts. The prizes are meant to facilitate future discovery and impact for promising food professionals, beverage professionals, and culinary writers at a critical stage in their careers.

Eligible applicants are professionals working in fields related to the culinary arts, including the baking and pastry arts, beverage arts, and culinary writing.

To be eligible, applicants must have been born outside the United States, be no older than 38  of December 31 (born on or after January 1, 1980), be a naturalized citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) of the United States, and intend to pursue a professional career in the United States. In addition, applicants may not be a past winner or finalist of the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise.
