The Challenger Learning Center sales associate is a member of the marketing program team primarily responsible for the execution and administration of group and individual sales. The sales associate will be involved in the development and execution of promotional and marketing campaigns with the goal of turning those efforts into direct sales. This position requires a detailed oriented, creative, organized and strategic thinking person. Candidates should have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the desire to provide superior customer satisfaction. Daily activities include program coordination, field trip reservations, administration of camp registrations, coordination of the CLC membership program and the booking and planning of facility rentals.

Job Description

  • Program Coordination 25%

Serve as liaison and schedule groups and individuals for CLC programs. Coordinate with group leaders, parents and/or event organizers concerning special needs and program requirements. Generate confirmation letters, program contracts and invoices; process payments collected, work with accountant to maintain accounting records involved with programs and events. Maintain and update daily program calendars; present, publish and disseminate program reservation information weekly to guest services and education departments. Ensure all staff remains informed of program developments and reservation changes. Update, maintain and manage accurate program records using a relational database computer program and reservation system, prepare, and provide manager period reports demonstrating program activity, attendance demographics, revenues generated, as well as, reservation/revenue projections and special information.

  • Group Sales 20%

Market programs, maintain relationships with current customers and conduct cold calls to schools and organizations in the community to increase the group sales of CLC programs. Design, monitor, evaluate and advise on the effectiveness of group sales marketing endeavors. Work closely with the staff to develop marketing campaigns and promotional materials to increase reservations and enrollment in ticketed activities and programs. These activities may include bulk mailings, soliciting of the participation of public and private schools and non-school groups through direct contact and the development of multimedia advertising efforts such as print, radio, television, e-mail, and internet under the supervision of a manager.

  • Camp Bookings and Administration 15%

Promote, monitor, register, administer and disseminate information on CLC camp programming in conjunction with efforts of the marketing and education departments. These tasks include maintaining an accurate camper database, processing registrations, payments, and compliance documents, and organizing and maintaining sensitive reference materials for all educational staff conducting camp programs.

  • Facility rentals 15%

Serve as the primary contact person for facility rentals sales and event details. Perform facility tours, schedule, staff, and provide price quotes, event planning assistance and contracts to customer. Work event, or brief appropriate staff member to work event effectively.

  • Special events 15%

Assist with the coordination, promotion and planning of special events at the Challenger Learning Center, including special Saturday programming, film launches, membership drives, VIP screenings, RAZOR lecture series, etc.

  • Membership 10%

Maintain membership program including but not limited to database maintenance and updates, generate confirmation and renewal letters, membership cards, etc. Ensure timely distribution of membership benefits and renewal notices and contact members that have not renewed. Serve as the liaison to ASTC for passport program. Maintain open communication with members and prospective members for the purpose of retention and renewal.

A candidate with experience developing graphic arts and creating content for a WordPress website is preferred, but not required.
