Since 1945, The Tallahassee Music Teachers Association (TMTA) has been a prestigious, non-profit professional organization that embraces full membership for independent, public school and college educators in the capital of Florida.

The purpose of TMTA is to unite well-qualified music teachers within the Tallahassee area, to raise standards of music instruction sponsor meetings for study and discussion, update teaching methods, stimulate music interest among the general public and provide regular and enriching activities such as recitals, festivals, master classes, auditions, competitive events and scholarships for summer camp students.

TMTA is launching a new piano festival!
The upcoming 2018 Sonata - Sonatina Festival is slated for February 24, 2018. Participation will be open to members and non-members from the community at large.
Children ages 5 - 18 will have the opportunity to perform a Sonata or Sonatina/Levels 1 - 12 from a specified repertoire list posted on the website. After performing on a beautiful grand piano in a concert setting, each recitalist will be awarded a Bronze, Silver or Gold Medal based on the merit of their performance. A small monetary award will be presented to a winner at each level. Please check the website for registration and further information.

TMTA is seeking funding to support the TMTA Inaugural 2018 Sonata - Sonatina Piano Festival.
