DESCRIPTION
Led by artist and marketing strategist Brian Tate, this 90-minute webinar will examine the seven elements of strategic marketing, and how we can use them to advance our communities and careers.

If we’re committed to being in the world, to making art about that experience, and to helping foster conditions where others can do the same, then our stories must be told. Marketing is key to that process. But what is it, and how does it work?

Marketing is storytelling presented to a specific audience to drive a specific outcome. For that reason, it is often used by mainstream forces with commercial, cultural, or political agendas on how we live our lives. But if marketing can reinforce traditional narratives, it can also subvert them. If we believe that the role of art is to comfort the troubled and trouble the comfortable, then marketing can serve that same purpose. And we can make it so.

ABOUT THE ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM
We are proud to offer selected topics from PDP workshops to the general public through the Online Learning Program. We are dedicated to extending our reach to artists who are new to Creative Capital’s professional development offerings, as well as those PDP alumni who are interested in a refresher course. Many of these courses are designed for individual artists of all disciplines, while others will be discipline-specific.

Most Online Learning sessions will be approximately 90 minutes in duration, including lecture and Q&A sessions. Webinars are taught and moderated live by talented workshop leaders, so the information is always up-to-date and engaging. Q&A sessions are included to be sure that all our participants have the chance to follow up on specific concerns.
