The Joe Center for the Arts invites you to enter our fantastical "Out of This World" show running from April 8-28, 2023

Fantastic art captures the modern imagination with art that depicts magical or other supernatural themes, ideas, creatures or settings. It inspires creativity and appreciation in its own right and endlessly intrigues artists, poets, philosophers, photographers and all others who have somehow been able to achieve that willing suspension of disbelief and manipulation of reality.

Fantasy art is a universal language that conveys the mystery of history that dates back to Greek mythology, Chinese folklore, various cultural traditions and African voodoo and magic. It mystifies and disorients with distortion of space and time, alien worlds -- from the deep, dark, and dramatic to the subtle, soothing, and subdued impossibilities within the abstract, supernatural and surreal.

The Joe Center for the Arts invites artists of all levels to implement their creative ideas for our theme using any media and style, and to share them for consideration in this juried exhibition.

Juror for this show: Sydni Gause, Adjunct Professor of Art, Gulf Coast State College (b. 1989, Leesburg, FL) is an interdisciplinary artist raised in the American South. She received a BFA from Watkins College of Art, Design & Film and an MFA in Sculpture/Dimensional Studies from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She currently holds a studio practice in Panama City, Florida.

ENTRY FEE: $35 for Members, $50 for Non-Members, up to 5 pieces may be entered.
