Each current Neighborhood First plan identifies economic development as a priority. To support those goals, the City of Tallahassee and Tallahassee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) have collectively provided more than $900,000 to Community Action Teams in Frenchtown, Greater Bond and Griffin Heights to establish a small business development (“microenterprise”) program. This funding will support the growth of neighborhood businesses through improved access to educational, employment and entrepreneurial activities.

Join the City and its partners on Saturday, November 5, at the Lawrence-Gregory Community Center for a workshop about this new opportunity. The workshop is designed to pique interest in and perhaps inspire you to start your own microenterprise. You will hear from local experts and learn about currently available small business loan products and technical support resources. At the workshop, you can also provide feedback regarding the services and products you’d like to see offered within the Neighborhood First Collaborative Microenterprise Program.

WHEN:   Saturday, November 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: Lawrence-Gregory Community Center, 1115 Dade Street, Tallahassee, FL
