If Roe is overturned, what is likely to happen in Florida? Join League’s January Hot Topic by Zoom on January 27 at 6:00 p.m. to get the facts and an update on what actions the Florida Legislature is considering during the 2022 Session which started on January 11, 2022.

Amy Weintraub will offer reflections on the state of reproductive freedom in our state, including how we got to where we are through court decision and legislation. She will lead a discussion on how Leon County advocates can get plugged into the movement to defend abortion access. She will also bring details of the Tallahassee Day of Action “Floridians Fight For Reproductive Freedom” scheduled for mid-February.​

Amy Weintraub is the Reproductive Rights Program Director for Progress Florida and former chair of the LWV Reproductive Health and Justice Committee on which she is still an active member. She is the Membership Chair for the St. Petersburg Area LWV and is a lead with the Floridians for Reproductive Freedom coalition and Florida NOW. A seasoned organizer, Amy has worked most of her adult life identifying, educating, and activating citizens toward social justice.
