Jazz & Classical (trumpet/composer). Longineu Parsons has been hailed internationally as being one of the world’s finest trumpet players. He is also a master of recorders, flute, percussion, and sings the blues. His music crosses genres and defies classification.

Longineu has performed in over thirty countries in North, South and Central America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, appearing before such dignitaries as the King of Morocco, the President of Gabon, the Royal Family of the Netherlands, the President of Austria, the U.S. Ambassador to France, The Royal Family of Monaco and for UNESCO.

He holds a BS degree in Music from Florida A&M University, a Master of Music in Classical trumpet from the University of Florida and a Doctorate in Classical Composition from the University of Florida. He has also had supplementary jazz studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and has been featured as a guest artist at Universities worldwide.

Longineu has performed and recorded with such greats as Cab Calloway, Nat Adderley, Nat Adderley Jr., Cecil Taylor, Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, Herbie Mann, Philly Joe Jones, Kenny Werner, Frank Foster, Mal Waldron, Archie Shepp, Sun Ra, Sam Rivers, David Murray, Billy Harper, and many others. He has been hailed by critics internationally as being one of the world’s finest trumpet players, and as protégé of the great cornetist Nat Adderley, Longineu expands the gospel as a multi-instrumentalist performing on  the trumpet, flugel horn, recorders, flute, multiple percussions and vocals.

Longineu has been soloist with the Jacksonville Symphony, Palm Beach Pops, Tallahassee Symphony, Augusta Symphony, Gainesville Symphony and the University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestras.  He has been a clinician at high schools and universities, most notably, the Conservatoire Nationale de France and the Universidad Autonoma de Bucaramanga (Colombia).

He is currently Professor of Music at Florida A&M University where he teaches Trumpet and Composition.
