My art ranges from landscape to still life to modern pieces and I work in various media including charcoal. pastel (oil and chalk), watercolor and oils.

I concentrate on capturing a mood or sharing my concern of the many issues that each of us face; whether ecological, social, moral, or political.

I create contemporary pieces stressing structure, shape and movement and try to retain enough visual clues and to ensure some familiarity with viewers.

My landscapes tend to be bright, bursting with color, as are my still lifes but they can  be brooding and pensive.

My best works often are the result of weeks of germination before I ever lift a brush, pen or pastel stick.  Once I begin, I tend to work fast as I have already visualized the finished work.  Similar to most artists, it is not unusual for me to place a picture aside for a month or more, if I’m not satisfied with some aspect of a picture’s composition, tone or color.

I’ve shown at the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts, The Foster-Tanner Museum at Florida A & M University, the Florida State Capital Gallery, LeMoyne Arts, River’s Edge Gallery, The Phyllis Strauss Gallery, Tallahassee City Hall, Goodwood Museum and Gardens, the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum and at other venues throughout the North Florida-South Georgia region.

My work is displayed in private collections along the East Coast ranging from the New York City area to Florida.
