Searching for a creative outlet in his retirement, Gerald Grow found digital photography. His images are made with a moving camera and stationary light sources. The camera records motion, reflections, and color in unpredictable ways, producing astonishing digital images, some of which are pushed even further using digital editing. In doing something because it makes him happy, Grow realized he was becoming a practitioner of the art of ICM or Intentional Camera Movement photography. His images are spontaneous explorations of exuberance and color. Some focus on the tiny mysteries of an ordinary day, while others express lifelong themes, now viewed through a different lens. His work has been exhibited locally, and he is a member of the FSU Museum of Fine Arts Artists’ League.
