Studio Orchestra at FSU

The Studio Orchestra at FSU began with a vision and a need at Florida State University. Music students and community members have the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles including wind bands, orchestras and choirs, but there was no studio orchestra.

Studio orchestras are the modern orchestra and are very common for musicians to work with. We sought to create this experience here in Tallahassee to better prepare music students for different settings in the modern musician’s career. This year, the Studio Orchestra at FSU and the College of Music are partnering with the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship and the College of Motion Picture Arts to create an interdisciplinary experience that benefits students across degree paths and interests.

​We hope to bring a new type of performance and experience to the students, faculty, and staff here at Florida State University while also inspiring young composers and arrangers, bringing everyone together through great music and novel opportunities.

As of right now, participation in this ensemble is unpaid but we hope you’ll join us out of love and passion for films, video games, and popular music!
