Afro-Nyota is the Florida State University Pan-African ensemble. They fuse indigenous African musical instruments with orchestra and Jazz band instruments while maintaining African rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic imagination and expression. With their mission to perform music(s) that give glimpses into the diversity in sound, musical ideas, and nuances, as well as the vastness of the day-to-day sonic soundscapes of contemporary African nations.
