Will Kimbrough returns to MusicLand

Will Kimbrough is a walking encyclopedia of Southern roots music.  We first met Will at a songwriters workshop at the 30A Songwriters Festival along with Tommy Womack.  Will didn’t speak much about his writing skills because he was too busy demonstrating guitar picking styles covering his vast knowledge of styles and music genre.  I realized after just one day that he was on stage with just about every singer songwriter, from Rodney Crowell to Chuck Cannon and a slew of new comers who were putting out their first albums.  Will continues to be the most sought after lead guitar player on any number of recordings and touring acts, recently including Emmy Lou Harris and Jimmy Buffet.  He is a regular at Muscle Shoals sound studios and at Frog Pond where he joins Grayson Capps and Sugarcane Jane as a member of Willie Sugarcapps.  Will and Bridgette DeMeyer’s recent CD Mockingbird Soul, is a remarkable combination of his deep trove of musical styles matched with Bridgette’s blend of vocals. Cuts from this CD can be sampled on SoundCloud.  Check out especially Broken Fences and the delightful Runnin Round.  Will’s exceptional catalog of musical styles is no better displayed than on MusicLand’s stage.  In the listening room, you can appreciate his amazing riffs on guitar and mandolin and listen to his beautiful lyrics.  No doubt this will be a special evening.  So come on out and enjoy the fun and get to chat with one of the nicest, most respected players in the business.
