Walk Through Living History Parade and Day in the Park

The May 11 Walk Through Living History and Day in the Park kicks off the Season of Emancipation in Tallahassee. It marks the 154th anniversary of the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation in Florida.

On Saturday, May 11, the 2nd Infantry Regiment United States Colored Troops  Living History Association in partnership with the John G. Riley Center & Museum, will host the Walk Through Living History Parade and Day in the Park, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., at Speed Spencer Stephens Park, 1907 Saxon St. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the corner of Osceola St. and Wahnish Way, proceeds to Okaloosa Street and ends in the park. Activities in the park range from games and activities for children to stage ... view more »
