A great way to celebrate Earth Day!

     The Language of Birds, a special outdoor lecture and chamber music recital by the Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble, is being offered at Birdsong Nature Center on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd at 2pm.  The Ensemble is providing these concerts in rural communities around south Georgia this spring and Birdsong has been selected as one of their sites!  The lecture is a 20-minute presentation on the neuroscience of birdsong, followed by 30 minutes of violin and piano music.  Dr. Amanda Jacob, lecturer, has worked with the Emory bird lab for several years, researching the incredible and still mysterious ways that birds learn to sing. The concert performers are Tracy K. Woodard, violinist, and Emily Bragg, pianist.

There is no charge for the concert, but the performers ask that the audience make donations to Birdsong, the host site.

The concert will be outside, so dress for the weather.  We have benches for seating; feel free to bring your own lawn chairs.
