The Inspired Gardener, with Gardening Author Felder Rushing

For Felder Rushing, gardening is about fun. From listening to all 5 of the senses to connecting with the Earth, Rushing’s philosophy is based on “slow gardening,” low maintenance gardening techniques that allow for time to enjoy the beauty you’ve created. He is the author of the fantastic book, “Tough Plants for Florida Gardens” – so fun!

Felder Rushing, a 10th-generation American gardener, will speak at Goodwood’s 18th annual Garden Symposium present by the Tallahassee Garden Club. Rushing will present a seminar titled “Tough Flowers for Florida Gardeners” incorporating his “Slow Gardening” approach that which allows individuals to “find their personal gardening bliss.” He advocates using all five senses from season to season by “the cultivation of locally adapted plants grown sustainably and shared with others.”

The 18th Annual Goodwood Garden Symposium lecture and lunch will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 11th, at Goodwood Museum & Garden’s Carriage House. Tickets are $35 for Goodwood & Garden Club members and $40 for non-members and include lunch. Books will be available for purchase.
