Summer Poetry to Last A Lifetime

With imaginative activities, young people refine writing skills, read and evaluate poetry, and find their own voice as a poet. Participants share their work with family and friends during an evening poetry reading that includes a published local poet

Young Poets at the House that Rhymes

Grades 8 to 12—July 8–12; 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Young Poets’ Showcase”—Friday, July 12; 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Luella Knott made her home a place of learning and creativity. Literary societies met here, members read their own writings and those of others, and she displayed examples of her whimsical poetry throughout her home.
