Student-Curated Exhibition: Stories Laid in Stone: Modern Architecture in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

Curated entirely by FSU students of various disciplines, Stories Laid in Stone: Modern Architecture in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem showcases the variety of modern architectural styles in the two cities, exploring the myths, cultures, and identities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem through an architectural lens. The exhibition invites viewers to look at these cities, often viewed as politically charged and sensitive locations, with new eyes; to explore their histories, cultures, and identities through something as innocuous as an office building. The show strives to show people that Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are cities full of real people and built with a complexity that makes them beautiful and intriguing.

Opening night will take place in FSU’s WJB Gallery on Nov. 7th from 6-8 pm. The exhibition will remain open and free for the public to attend until Nov. 25th. There is a link directed to a spark.fsu.edu website where the students are trying to raise donations to support their obtaining of objects, promoting the exhibition, and related costs. Any donation amount is graciously accepted!
