See Rock City and Other Destinations

We heart student art! You should too! Eddie Ortega is a Sophomore in the BM Musical Theater program and Michael Leyte-Vidal is a Senior in the BA Theater program at Florida State University. Together, they decided it was time to produce their own musical. And they could really use your help!

See Rock City & Other Destinations is a musical about connections missed and made at tourist destinations across America. See Rock City’s hilarious and touching book and ambitious score garnered the original Off-Broadway production 6 Drama Desk Nominations and an award for best book. This short but powerful show has ignited a passion for creating art in Eddie, Michael, and all of the students involved with its production.

Producing theater can be very costly. Licensing, props, costumes, lights, renting a space, etc. all cost quite a bit of money that student producers just don’t have on hand. That’s where you come in. Currently, we don’t plan on charging for tickets, so all of our budget will be determined by your donations. And, we plan on producing the show in mid-April (before Michael graduates) so we don’t have a ton of time to raise the money. Any donation you feel compelled to make will be greatly appreciated. If you donate 20$ or more you can request a song that you would like the cast to sing and record and you will receive a personalized video!

Eddie and Michael along with the rest of the production team are incredibly excited to bring See Rock City & Other Destinations to the FSU and Tallahassee communities. Please help us reach our fundraising goal in the short time we have to produce this wonderful piece of theater.
