Robert Johnson transcriber and authority Scott Ainslie will be tearing through some of Johnson’s more challenging pieces, playing acoustic blues, slide guitar and select original songs at Blue Tavern on Saturday night, November 9 from 8:00-11:00 p.m.
Having come of age during the Civil Rights era, Ainslie has a strong and abiding affection for social justice and cross-cultural exchange. His songwriting, his choice of blues material, and his immersion in the history of the music and its authors make for an entertaining and interesting evening.
With more than a half-century of guitar playing under his belt, Ainslie is one of the most refined acoustic slide guitarists you will hear. He's gigged with David Lindley (https://youtu.be/FtlRnaA6Igs) ... view more »
