Poetry in the Jazz Age

“Poetry in the Jazz Age” will be streamed live via Zoom and participants will need to register prior to the event to receive access information. To register for this free virtual event, please email museum staff at My.KHM@dos.myflorida.com to receive access link. “Poetry in the Jazz Age” highlights literary and musical traditions of the period, with Dr. Yolanda Franklin reading Harlem Renaissance poetry in addition to contemporary poetry inspired by that movement. Stephen Thompson, vintage music enthusiast, shares influential jazz composers from Harlem of 1920s and 30s. Terri Carrion, poet-in-residence at the Knott House Museum, reads poetry of Luella Knott, contrasting her style with the Jazz Poets of the same era. Call 850.922.2459 for more information.
