Plein Air Oil Painting Workshop with Lynn Mehta

Plein air artist, Lynn Mehta, will visit us from her home in rural Virginia to present a full-day workshop with an emphasis on “How to Loosen Up Your Painting” – sharing insights on how to create successful paintings that reflect personal confidence and boldness.  Lynn is highly regarded in plein air circles and participates in many prestigious juried plein air events – including the 2021 St. George Island Paint Out.  She has an interpretive style that verges on the abstract, and takes plein air painting to the next level.  To learn more about Lynn, visit her website: www.lynnmehta.com.

The workshop will be limited to ten students, and is geared toward those who have at least some experience with painting. The class will meet here at the gallery and weather permitting, it will take place in our garden/yard and surrounding area at the edge of downtown Apalachicola.  If raining, it will take place inside using photos or still life subjects.  Morning refreshments will be served.  Lunch break will be informal at the discretion of the student… brown bag lunch encouraged!
