Nedjma is passionate about holding a fashion show in 1997 Algiers, a time when women were oppressed.

In Algiers, 1997, terrorists are wanting an islamic and archaic state everywhere, forcing women to conceal their bodies by taking control of women’s clothing, bodies, and even public space. Nedjma refuses these reforms, putting on a fashion show to reject these restrictions, though she may not be prepared for the consequences. A moving story about rebellion and the freedom of a woman’s body, this film shows sparks of hope in the young student Nedjma.

2019. Algeria (English subtitles). 108
