We are thrilled to be featuring Saundra Kelley as our special guest. A seventh generation north Floridian, Saundra is an author, writer, and rare oral tradition storyteller. She is part of the elite circle of Jonesborough Storytellers and performs on stage as a spoken word artist. Her writing can be described as southern Gothic mystery. Mother Earth is a frequent star in her performances and stories, as she loves animals, nature and all things green.
Our host, Linda Marie, holds an MFA in painting with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of South Florida, and a BFA from the University of Hawaii. She is a symbolist painter, writer, poet, and playwright, and offers intuitive readings using two divination decks of her own creation. Linda Marie’s poetry has been published in The Texas Observer, Hawaii Review, Blue Hole, and Enigmatist among other poetry publications, and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Before moving to Tallahassee recently, she was the host of Austin Poetry Society’s monthly poetry venue for 6 years. She is excited to be the new host of My Favorite Books’ poetry and storytelling open mic, and is looking forward to meeting and introducing many local poets, storytellers, and writers!
