Nautical Nostalgia: History Program about Ferries and Party Boats

The Carrabelle History Museum will host a conversation about the fascinating local ferry boats and party boats, like Spica and Miss Carrabelle that served the Carrabelle area for years.  This wonderful history program, entitled, “Nautical Nostalgia: A Conversation on Ferry and Party Boats of Carrabelle” will be held on Saturday, January 27 from 10 am – 12 pm at the Franklin County Senior Center, 201 NW Avenue F, Carrabelle, FL. Admission is free and open to the public.

This program will be especially interesting as it will feature a chat with local citizens who have first hand knowledge of the Forgotten Coast’s fascinating maritime heritage. This special event will highlight tales and reminiscences from local people, like Raymond Williams, Bevin Putnal and Micky Gay, who were captains, deckhands and children on board the area’s beloved ferry boats and all day party boats. Discover what happened to the Spica (hint: she’s been completely reincarnated). Hear the stories about the party boats with striking names, like the Queen of Queens, Georgia Boy, Azalea Queen, Cavalier II, Belleview Biltmore and stories to match.

Those with memories, family stories, photos, and tales of their own are encouraged to share in this conversation. Don’t miss this special free program!
