Mr. Sipp, The Mississippi Blues Child, Under the Oaks

Mr. Sipp, the Mississippi Blues Child  (AKA Castro Coleman) returns to the club bringing his infectious, danceable groove to the BBC faithful.  Coleman is the epitome of jookin’ and jivin’ blues dancin’ music: crisp sharp blues pickin’, growlin’ vocals, stage presence and consummate entertainer, songwriter, producer and actor ( in the James Brown bio-pic, Get On Up”).  He is, indeed, the complete package.
A native of McComb, MS, Coleman got his start at a young age in gospel and has performed on over 50 gospel recordings. He turned his attention to the blues and was quickly rewarded by winning the 2014 International Blues Challenge and the Gibson Best Guitarist Award.  His rise has been meteoric. He won the 2016 Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Album, The Spirit of Little Walter Award, Entertainer of the Year Award by the Jus’ Blues Foundation, and several Jackson Music Awards including International Male Blues Artist, Blues Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
The band’s back-beat won’t let ya’ stand still. Add a jukin’, funky rhythm section (keys, bass and drums) and you have all the fixin’s for a get down in the woods under the oaks. Very highly recommended.
